COSPLAY MEET-UPS

Amazing Comic Con Aloha is hosting Cosplay Meet Up photos happening each day of the show!  Come meet up with fellow cosplayers, take a couple large group photos and enjoy the spirit of the cosplay community at Amazing Comic Con Aloha.  The official photos will take place promptly

*Friday November 8 at 6:30pm

*Saturday November 9  at 1:30pm

*Sunday November 10 at 1:30pm 

TWO GREAT COSPLAY CONTESTS ON MAIN STAGE! 

Amazing Comic Con Aloha Annual Cosplay Contest SATURDAY at 7 PM on the Main Stage inside Kamehameha Hall!  You can find our rules listed BELOW.  SIGN UP HERE (Amazing! Comic Con Aloha Costume Contest. Event participation is limited to the first 40 entries, so be sure to sign up now!  We will also have an onsite walk-up list for those who want to walk the stage without being considered for prizes.  If you love cosplay, but don’t want to be in the spotlight, stay to watch the contest and see if you can pick the winner.)

SUNDAY is KID's DAY at Amazing Comic Con Aloha, and the here’s where our next generation of fans can get in on the action.  Kid’s Costume Showcase SUNDAY at 3 PM on the Main Stage in Kamehameha Hall! COSTUMING AT AMAZING COMIC CON ALOHA at the HAWAII CONVENTION CENTER

Cosplay has been a traditional staple for the fans of Honolulu.  Our team has been informed from the Hawaii Convention Center that there will some additional guidelines and restrictions for our 2024 event.  Please review this information, as you make your preparations heading into November’s big event

Due to Hawaii Convention Center’s policy changes, we can not allow prop weapons of any kindinside Kamehameha Hall.  Any other props items must be checked and approved at the registration desk and only approved props will be allowed inside the Kamehameha hall. Amazing Comic Con is complying with the convention center policies and all decisions about approved or unapproved props will be final.  

We know we are going to have an excellent time at Amazing Comic Con Aloha and we can not wait to see all of your creative cosplays this year!

Cosplay Competition Rules

• Contestants must have a valid ticket to the convention for the day of the contest.

• All participants must adhere to the Code of Conduct and Dress Code at all times.

• All Props must bear proof of inspection by Amazing Comic Con Aloha and conform to the Prop Policy.

  • No Weapons of any kind will be allowed in the Kamehameha Hall

  • While on stage you may pose with props.

  • You may not swing or otherwise brandish a prop at any time, including on stage.  This applies to all carried items or articles of clothing

• Live animals (excepting ADA service animals), any type of fireworks or flashes, lasers, smoke, liquids and / or aerosol cans are not allowed as they create a hazard for other contestants.

• All participants under 13 require a parent or guardian at check-in at the Contest.

• Group entries are allowed but are considered as 1 entrant, are judged together, and will receive only one prize if they win any category.

• A reference picture is requested and highly encouraged to aid our judges.  Please submit with your entry or email it separately with your name and Cosplay Contest in the subject line to amazingcomicevents@gmail.com

• The contest is limited to the first 40 entrants. Entries will be on a first come, first served basis. 

Walk-On Entries

If you would like to participate as a walk-on entry (on stage, but not judged) you can fill out a walk-on form that is available at the main stage 30 minutes before the contest begins

Signups for walk-ons are on a first come, first served, and as time permits basis: there is no guarantee that you will be able to participate.

Amazing Comic Con Aloha reserves the right to modify and/or update this policy at any time at our sole discretion and without prior notice.

CODE OF CONDUCT

Participation in any Amazing Comic Con and/or affiliate events requires adherence to all of Amazing Comic Con’s Rules, and Policies. Determination of violations are at the sole discretion of Amazing Comic Con. Violation of any Rules and Policies may result in forfeiture of event access badge, and permanent removal from event premises.

Children age 13 or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at all times.

Attendees must respect common sense rules for public behavior, personal interaction, common courtesy, and respect for private property. Harassment, hate speech, unsolicited physical contact or photography, violence, or offensive behavior will not be tolerated. In addition, attendees who appear to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will not be permitted into venue spaces. Amazing Comic Con reserves the right to revoke, without refund, the admission media of any attendee, vendor, contractor, or staff member not in compliance with this policy. 

Persons finding themselves in a situation where they feel their safety is at risk or who become aware of an attendee not in compliance with this policy should immediately locate the nearest member of security or staff.

DRESS CODE

Amazing Comic Con is a family friendly, inclusive environment and welcomes attendees of all backgrounds and body types. For the safety and comfort of all attendees and staff, the following guidelines for attire must be adhered to at Amazing Comic Con events:

• Nudity is not allowed at any Amazing Comic Con venue. All attendees, regardless of gender, are required to have opaque material providing complete coverage of nipples, genitals and buttocks.

• Opaque bodysuits that simulate nudity are not allowed. 

• Clothing and Costumes must not contain words or images that are obscene, offensive, or derogatory.  Final determination is left to the sole discretion of Amazing Comic Con.

• Footwear must include a solid sole, entirely covering the bottom of the foot.

• All costumes must be able to fit through a standard 7’ Doorway, with the exception of pre-approved, large scale costumes for Contests.

• Any item of clothing or costume deemed inappropriate by a member of Amazing Comic Con or Law Enforcement is not permitted on the convention floor.

PROP POLICIES

PROP CHECK

All costume props must be inspected daily at Prop Check. The Prop Policy is subject to change at any time and final approval on costume props will be at the sole discretion of Amazing Comic Con.

After your prop(s) have been checked, they will be tagged to designate that your prop(s) have been approved. This tag must remain visible on your prop(s) while you are at the event. Security will escort you to the Prop Check Desk for inspection if your costume prop(s) is not tagged.

Props may be allowed as a part of your costume, subject to Prop Check approval and compliance with the following:

• All cosplay must abide by Amazing Comic Con’s Code of Conduct.

  • All costume props must conform to state and federal law, as well as venue policy.

  • All prop items must be part of a cosplay.  You may not carry a prop if you are not in costume.

  • No Weapons of any kind will be allowed in the Kamehameha Hall per Hawail Convention Center rules

• Costumes featuring stilts must be approved at the Prop Check Desk.

• Realistic cosplay of first responders, police, and/or security is not permitted. 

• All Props must be able to fit through a standard 7’ Doorway, with the exception of pre-approved, large scale props for Contests.

• At certain times, due to crowds and safety issues, oversized costumes may be asked to leave the Exhibit Hall and/or programming rooms.

If you do not want to have your costume prop(s) inspected or tagged, or if you are not willing to comply with these policies, please do not bring your costume prop(s) to Amazing Comic Con. The Props Policy is subject to change at any time. Please be sure to continue to check this website to ensure your prop(s) comply with the current Policy.

PROHIBITED ITEMS

For the safety and comfort of all attendees and staff, there are a few things that are never allowed at Amazing Comic Con:

• Weapons or projectiles of any kind

• Drones of any kind.

• Smoking, vaping, or illegal substances/drugs of any kind.

• Animals of any kind, with the exception of Trained Service Animals (Animals whose sole function is to provide comfort or emotional support do not qualify as service animals under the ADA)

• Any not ADA mobility devices

• Items deemed as dangerous by Amazing Comic Con, venue security, or law enforcement officers.

PHOTOGRAPHY / FILMING CLAUSE

By attending Amazing Comic Con, you acknowledge and agree that you may be photographed, filmed, or recorded by event organizers or media personnel. These images and recordings may be used for promotional purposes, including but not limited to social media, websites, and marketing materials, without compensation or acknowledgment. Your presence at the event constitutes your consent to the use of your image or likeness for these purposes.
